In his spare time, Ismo is an avid wood boat sailor and marathon runner.

Received a bachelor degree in Management and Economics with Penza State Architectural Academy, (2002) Marketing Diploma with Penza State University (2004). Since 2004 through 2009 owned and operated small business in a sphere of children entertainment and development. As a young entrepreneur, won an internship at TASIC MTP 4, International Program for Managers and worked as a visiting manager in Ludoteca Ample/Game and kids (2006). Was invited to work with Penza Region Development Corp. as an Investment Officer. During her work was involved in developing investment projects, organizing international investment seminars, provided support to international companies in order to bring their businesses in to Russia. 2010 moved to NY, USA and worked as a Russian language teacher with NYC language schools. In September 2012 became a part of a Nest team as an Office Manager.

In 1997 he was named Executive of the Year by the National Account management Association (NAMA) for his leadership and vision in guiding HP’s global sales operations through the rapidly changing information-technology industry. After retirement he served on many boards including Vimpelcom, the no.2 Russian operator and is now active on a number of Advisory Boards including the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Geneva based Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation. He was most recently appointed as Chairman of the Aalto Center of Entrepreneurship and Stanford Technology Venture Partnership Steering Committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a degree from the Nijenrode University in Breukelen (The Netherlands). He also attended the Wharton Advanced Management Program in 1995.
He is a Dutch national, married to a Finnish wife, has a son and daughter plus 3 grand children.
